Xie, Li;Nakajima, Fumiyuki;Kasuga, Ikuro;Kurisu, Futoshi research published 《 Simultaneous screening for chemically diverse micropollutants in public water bodies in Japan by high-performance liquid chromatography-Orbitrap mass spectrometry》, the research content is summarized as follows. An improved assessment of environmental risks to public water bodies requires screening a large number of micropollutants. This study reports the development of a novel target screening method based on solid-phase extraction (SPE), HPLC, and high-resolution Orbitrap MS for the anal. of micropollutants with diverse chem. properties. First, target compounds were screened for their detectability by Orbitrap MS. An optimized SPE cartridge and HPLC column maximized recovery and separated most target compounds The sensitivity and repeatability of the method was validated by determining the detection limits and relative standard deviation (RSD). Eighty-four compounds with highly diverse properties were simultaneously detected with detection limits of 0.1-100 ng/L. Of these compounds, 52 were quantitated, with R2 ≥ 0.99 by linearity anal. and SPE recovery ratios of ≥50%. The remaining 32 compounds were qual. detected, with R2 < 0.99 or SPE recovery ratio of <50%. Satisfactory repeatability was obtained (RSD < 13.5%). This method was applied to the surveillance of the Arakawa River in Japan in 2019. Thirty-two compounds, including pesticides, surfactants, plasticizers, adhesives, and industrial solvents, were detected in the river. The measured concentrations of 13 compounds were compared with their predicted no effect concentrations (PNECs). Decanoic acid showed a higher concentration than the corresponding PNEC value, suggesting that its risk to the Arakawa water environment required further evaluation. The concentrations of dicyclohexylamine, 1,3-diphenylguanidine, and 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid were higher than their corresponding PNEC/10 values, demonstrating that these compounds were of higher priority than other compounds

Fmoc-L-Ser-OH is a synthetic peptide that belongs to the group of glycopeptides. It is used as a model for such compounds and has been shown to have antimicrobial activity in vitro against gram-positive bacteria, especially Staphylococcus epidermidis. This compound was synthesized from 3-mercaptopropionic acid and chloride in the presence of hydroxyl groups and epidermal growth factor. The synthetic pathway can be divided into three steps: (1) condensation of 3-mercaptopropionic acid with hydrochloric acid to yield 3-mercaptoacrylic acid; (2) esterification of 3-mercaptoacrylic acid with glycine to form Fmoc-L-Ser; and (3) deprotection of Fmoc protecting group., 73724-45-5.

Xia, Yiran;Hao, Aiyou;Xing, Pengyao research published 《 Fmoc-protected amino acids as luminescent and circularly polarized luminescence materials based on charge transfer interaction》, the research content is summarized as follows. Fluorenylmethyloxycarbonyl (Fmoc)-protected amino acids are effective building blocks in self-assembled architectures at hierarchical levels, which however show limited luminescent properties and chiroptical activities. Here we introduce a charge-transfer strategy to build two-component luminescent materials with emerged circularly polarized luminescence properties. A library of Fmoc-amino acids was built, which selectively form charge-transfer complexes with the electron-deficient acceptor. Embedding in amorphous polymer matrix or phys. grinding could trigger the charge-transfer luminescence with adjusted wavelengths in a general manner. X-ray diffraction results suggest the multiple binding modes between donor and acceptor. And, the solution-processed coassembly could selectively exhibit circularly polarized luminescence with high dissymmetry g-factors. This work illustrates a noncovalent charge-transfer strategy to construct luminescent and chiroptical organic composites based on the easy-accessible and economic chiral N-terminal aromatic amino acids.

Wu, Ye;Zou, Yan;Sun, Lingling;Garzino-Demo, Alfredo;Hu, Honggang;Zhang, Weidong;Li, Xiang research published 《 Peptide stapling with the retention of double native side-chains》, the research content is summarized as follows. All-hydrocarbon stapling strategy has been widely applied for enhancing the proteolytic stability of peptides. However, two major tech. hurdles to some extent limit the development of stapled peptides for therapeutic usage: rational selection of the stapling sites and the corresponding deletion of the native side chains. Previously we described the development of the olefin-terminated amino acids with the retention of native side chains and successfully applied them in the synthesis of hydrocarbon stapled peptides with single side-chain retention. Here, we explored the feasibility and effectiveness of hydrocarbon stapling strategy characterized as double side-chains retention. Modeled after a lengthy human immunodeficiency virus-1 (HIV-1) fusion inhibitor SC34EK, Leui, Seri+4 and Lysi, Leui+4 stapled peptides with the retention of double side-chains were effectively obtained. Our complementary study provided a convenient alternative to address where to install the staple in sequence for conventional all-hydrocarbon peptide stapling. Furthermore, this method not only conferred conformational reinforcement for SC34EK with high α-helicity and protease resistance, but also preserved the structural characteristic (key peripheral residues, charge and solubility) of the linear peptide to the maximum, which are crucial for anti-HIV-1 activity.

Wu, Yaqi;Li, Cong;Fan, Shihui;Zhao, Yibing;Wu, Chuanliu research published 《 Fast and selective reaction of 2-benzylacrylaldehyde with 1,2-aminothiol for stable N-terminal cysteine modification and peptide cyclization》, the research content is summarized as follows. N-terminal cysteine (Cys)-specific reactions have been exploited for protein and peptide modifications. However, existing reactions for N-terminal Cys suffer from low reaction rate, unavoidable side reactions, or poor stability for reagents or products. Herein we report a fast, efficient, and selective conjugation between 2-benzylacrylaldehyde (BAA) and 1,2-aminothiol, which involves multistep reactions including aldimine condensation, Michael addition, and reduction of imine by NaBH3CN. This conjugation proceeds with a rate constant of ~2700 M-1 s-1 under neutral condition at room temperature to produce a pair of seven-membered ring diastereoisomers, which are stable under neutral and acidic conditions. This method enables the selective modifications of the N-terminal Cys residue without interference from the internal Cys and lysine residues, providing a useful alternative to existing approaches for site-specific peptide or protein modifications and synthesis of cyclic peptides.

A.;Leung, Tsz-Fai;Ong, Tiow-Gan research published 《 Reactive Dicarbon as a Flexible Ligand for Transition-Metal Coordination and Catalysis》, the research content is summarized as follows. Dicarbon is a reactive carbon allotrope that naturally exists only in the high-temperature medium of stellar space. We report the successful preparation of a series of bottleable phosphine-stabilized dicarbon (PDC) mols. We explore the use of these mols. as a new complementary class of carbene-like ligands featuring strong σ-donor (>NHCs and CAAcs) but weak π-acceptor properties. Steric map anal. of PDC based on Cavallo′s SambVca program reveals comparable steric volume bulk of 32.5%, similar to the conventional IMes carbene. However, our PDCs exhibit dynamic steric flexibility modulated by the nature of the metal complexes and catalytic reaction environment. We demonstrate the catalytic utility of the PDC framework by its successful implementation for Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling and the reductive coupling reaction of an aldehyde and alkyne. Detailed investigations of the reductive coupling reaction reveal an important secondary interaction between PDC and metal complexes, which plays a critical role in the catalytic system.

Wu, Haijun;Li, Xinlong;Zhang, Quan;Zhang, Kai;Xu, Xia;Xu, Jian research published 《 Promoting the conversion of poplar to bio-oil based on the synergistic effect of alkaline hydrogen peroxide》, the research content is summarized as follows. The synergistic catalysis effect of NaOH and H2O2 on the hydrothermal liquefaction (HTL) of poplar was investigated and compared to the NaOH or H2O2 catalyzed HTL at different temperatures and 30 min residence time. GC-MS, GPC, FT-IR, HPLC and TGA were used to comprehensively characterize the phys. and chem. properties of liquefied products (bio-oil, lignin and solid residue). The results showed that the highest total bio-oil yield (70.65%) was obtained at 280°C with NaOH (35 g/L)/H2O2 (30 g/L) as catalysts. The average mol. weight and polydispersity index (PDI) were found to be lower compared to that from other conditions. As the NaOH concentration was increased, the bio-oil yield was improved. The concentration of H2O2 for the optimal synergistic effect was observed to be 30 g/L. GC-MS anal. showed that the bio-oil obtained by NaOH (35 g/L)/H2O2 (30 g/L) was characterized with the lowest N content. The synergistic effect promoted the higher production selectivity of o-xylene and p-xylene in the bio-oil.

Safety of 3,5-Dimethoxy-4-hydroxycinnamic acid, Sinapinic acid is a chemical compound that is the dihydroxybenzoic acid derivative of sinapic acid. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties in vitro and in vivo. Sinapinic acid inhibits the activity of various enzymes, such as cyclooxygenase (COX), lipoxygenase (LOX), and 5-lipoxygenase-activating protein (FLAP). It also decreases levels of adhesion molecules and downregulates inflammatory response genes. Sinapinic acid has been shown to reduce inflammation by inhibiting the formation of proinflammatory mediators, such as prostaglandin E2 or leukotriene B4, in endothelial cells and mammary epithelial cells.
Sinapic acid is a phenylpropanoid hydroxycinnamic acid with diverse biological activities. Sinapic acid inhibits collagen-induced human platelet aggregation by up to 70% in vitro (IC50 = 1.03 mM). It scavenges 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH; ) and 2,2′-azino-bis-(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonate) (ABTS) free radicals with IC50 values of 8.3 and 5.4 μg/ml, respectively. Sinapic acid (200 μM) reduces colony formation of SW480 human colon carcinoma cells by 4-fold. It also inhibits colony formation of E. coli, S. enteritidis, and S. aureus on agar (MICs = 2.2, 2, and 1.8 mM, respectively). In vivo, sinapic acid (4 mg/kg, p.o.) increases the time spent in the open arms of the elevated plus maze by approximately 15% in mice, an effect that can be blocked by the GABAA receptor antagonists flumazenil and bicuculline. Sinapic acid is also commonly used as a matrix in protein mass spectrometry.
Sinapic acid analytical standard provided with w/w absolute assay, to be used for quantitative titration.
Sinapic acid is an hydroxycinnamic acid derivative that occurs naturally in Brassicaceae species.
cis-Sinapic acid, also known as cis-sinapate or synapitic acid, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as hydroxycinnamic acids. Hydroxycinnamic acids are compounds containing an cinnamic acid where the benzene ring is hydroxylated. cis-Sinapic acid is considered to be a practically insoluble (in water) and relatively neutral molecule. Within the cell, cis-sinapic acid is primarily located in the cytoplasm. Outside of the human body, cis-sinapic acid can be found in common pea and pulses. This makes cis-sinapic acid a potential biomarker for the consumption of these food products.
Cis-sinapic acid is a 3-(4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethoxyphenyl)prop-2-enoic acid in which the double bond has cis-configuration. It has been isolated from the shoots of alfalfa. It has a role as a plant metabolite., 530-59-6.

In this study, we identified more differentially expressed genes and differentially abundant metabolites in pH 4.0 + 1 mM Al-treated roots (P4AR) vs pH 4.0 + 0 mM Al-treated roots (P4R) than in pH 3.0 + 1 mM Al-treated roots (P3AR) vs pH 3.0 + 0 mM Al-treated roots (P3R), suggesting that increased pH enhanced root metabolic adaptations to Al-toxicity. Further anal. indicated that increased pH-mediated mitigation of root Al-toxicity might be related to several factors, including: enhanced capacity to maintain the homeostasis of phosphate and energy and the balance between generation and scavenging of reactive oxygen species and aldehydes; and elevated accumulation of secondary metabolites such as polyphenol, proanthocyanidins and phenolamides and adaptations of cell wall and plasma membrane to Al-toxicity.

It has been shown to be effective in the treatment of cardiac arrhythmia and may also be used as an anti-inflammatory drug. 2MEMEA has been shown to have pharmacokinetic properties that are different from those of other amines, which may be due to its ability to form hydrogen bonds with water molecules. 2MEMEA also has diversified effects on some types of cancer cells, including hyperproliferative and amine-dependent cancers., 38256-93-8.

Ethers can again be classified into two varieties: if the alkyl or aryl groups are the same on both sides of the oxygen atom, 38256-93-8, formula is C4H11NO, Name is 2-Methoxy-N-methylethanamine. Then it is a simple or symmetrical ether, whereas if they are different, the ethers are called mixed or unsymmetrical ethers. Electric Literature of 38256-93-8.

Wormald, Michael M.;Ernst, Glen;Wei, Huijun;Barrow, James C. research published 《 Synthesis and characterization of novel isoform-selective IP6K1 inhibitors》, the research content is summarized as follows. Diaminopurines and diaminopurine analogs such as (methoxyindolylethylamino)purine I were prepared as selective inositol hexakisphosphate kinases (IP6K) inhibitors. Selected diaminopurines such as I were selective inhibitors of IP6K1 over IP6K2 and IP6K3; I was a more potent inhibitor of IP6K1 and was more water-soluble than the previously known pan-IP6K inhibitor TNP.
