The combined organic extracts were then washed further with water and brine, dried over MgS 04, filtered and the filtrate concentrated in vacuo. Further purification by way of column chromatography (Si02, gradient elution, 9:1 (v/v) Hex: EtOAc – EtOAc) furnish the desired product as an orange oil that solidified upon standing (51percent yield).
