To a mixture of Example 66B (0.10 g, 0.42 mmol) and K2C03 (0.116 g, 0.837mmol) in acetonitrile (5 mL), was added 1-(2-bromoethyl)-2-methoxybenzene (0.135 g,0.627 mmol). The mixture was stirred at ambient temperature for 16 h, then the reaction mixture was filtered through CELITE, and the filtrate was concentrated. The residue was dissolved in ethyl acetate, washed with water and brine, dried (Na2SO4) andconcentrated to afford Example 66C as a yellow oil, which was used in the following stepwithout further purification.
