The oil was purified by silica gel chromatography, using 12% EtOAc/88% hexanes as eluent, to give compound D as a yellow foam. 1H NMR (300 MHz, DMSO-d6) delta 7.76 (s, 1H), 7.38-7.13 (m, 10H), 6.95-6.81 (m, 7H), 4.28 (s, 2H), 3.61 (s, 3H), 3.16 (m, 2H), 2.53 (m, 2H), 1.29 (s, 9H).
