EXAMPLE 12 Production of 2-Methoxy-5-(trifluoromethyl)acetophenone 97.0 g (0.65 moles) of trifluoromethanesulfonic acid were put into a 200 ml three-necked flask. The resulting two ether layers were combined together, followed by washing with 10% sodium hydrogencarbonate aqueous solution until the ether layer is made basic.
