After 1 hour the precipitate was collected, washed with water and dried at 60 C. and recrystallized 3 times from methanol:water (3:2), once from ethanol:water (3:2) and twice from ethanol:water (1:1) to give 0.34 g. of 2-chloro-N-[2-methoxy-3,5-dimethylphenyl]methyl acetamide, m.p. 124-124.5 C.
