Example 1.2.1 4-Bromo-3,5-dimethylphenol (10.05 g, 50.0 mmol) and K2CO3 (9.0 g, 65.2 mmol) were stirred for 10 minutes in DMF (25 mL). 1-Bromo-2-(2-methoxyethoxy)ethane was added, and the reaction mixture was heated at 45 C. overnight under argon.
